Pilates is a systematic conditioning program developed by Joseph H. Pilates in the 1920’s. Pilates promotes flexibility, stength and coordination and helps to create a balanced body. The full body exercises are biomechanically correct and non-stressful to the joints. Pilates is a challenging yet safe workout that conditions the whole body, an ideal compliment to an aerobic program. Any level of fitness from beginner to advanced athlete can benefit. Because Pilates emphasizes the breath and proper body alignment, it increases body awareness and re-educates the muscles to work synergistically. Concentration and precise movement are the emphasis rather than repetition and the workout leaves you equally relaxed and energized.

Wise Body Pilates

Wise Body Pilates offers both mat classes and private training in a fully equipped studio. Wise Body offers teacher training and certification for the PhysicalMind Institute. The inspiring environment of a turn-of-the-century southern home are matched by the high level of equipment housed in the downstairs studio. Beautiful vintage wood floors in both the studio and the light-flecked sunroom create a relaxing atmosphere for each workout.
